Can Super Saver win the Preakness?

With the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby behind us and the eyes of the horse racing industry now focused on the Preakness in less than two weeks, the most important questions that need to be answered have as much to do with the mud as they do with a horse.

Is Super Saver a great 3-year-old, capable of winning the Triple Crown? Or is he simply a great mudder who, thanks to jockey Calvin Borel, took advantage of the rain-soaked track at Churchill Downs? Read More

He has a shot, for sure. He ran very good in the Derby, considering most of the horses as close as he was completely collapsed. He got a good trip, but a big part of that was having the speed to stay in it early. He will be a deserving Preakness favorite, but he isn't a near-lock like some past Derby winners have been.
cigar is right. You can make money on Future Wagers, especially if you have a sound strategy.
Future wagers are no where near as random as a slot machine...
Future book wagers are pure luck just like a slot machine.
It is not impossible to predict the outcome of a race before a field comes together. We do it all the time in thoroughbred racing. How many people have cashed a Future Wager bet? How about a Horse to Watch on your virtual stable? Super Saver owns fine early-pressing speed and is a logical contender in the Preakness regardless of competition. That being said, he does not figure to offer much wagering value and is worth trying to beat.
Off a single race it is impossible to predict the next one until the field comes together. To project an animals; winning or losing befroe the field is assembled is ridiculous.
Super Saver is not a great horse and is very unlikely to win the Preakness. There's no way he can win the Belmont. He had a great trip, a great ride, better horses like Lucky and Ice Box had awful trips, and he lucked-in to an off track. Chances of all these things converging in the Preakness are minimal, and there's no way he can get the distance of the Belmont if he tries.
yes i think that he can with Calvin on him he can win
