Brethren, and Super Saver's baby brother is on the road to the Kentucky Derby following an effortless win in Saturday's Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.
Breaking from post 10 under Ramon Dominguez and making his first start since November, Brethren tracked longshot pacesetter Litigate through fractions of :23.75 and :48.20. The WinStar Farm colt took over after six furlongs in 1:13.16 and drew clear to post an easy four length tally. He completed his eight and one-half furlong journey in 1:45.07 and the overwhelming favorite paid $3.80 to win.
