The Breeders’ Cup today
unveiled the official event logo for the 30th running of the
Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.,
on November 1-2.
This year’s Breeders’
Cup, which annually attracts the top Thoroughbred horses from around the globe,
will mark the seventh time that
Santa Anita will be the site of the World Championships races. Santa Anita also
hosted last year’s two-day event.
The 2013 event logo incorporates the
Breeders’ Cup signature brand mark
in gold at the center of the logo, flanked by purple flourishes emerging from
the base of the image. The words
“2013 World Championships” form an arc at the top of the logo,
while at the bottom of the image the number 30 is placed between the words
“Santa Anita”. The event dates, November 1-2, are at the foundation
of the mark.

Tickets for this year’s event are scheduled to go on sale to
the general public in early June. Fans may register today at www.breederscup.com/tickets to
receive a special pre-sale ticket offer
in late May which will allow them to purchase tickets before they go on sale to
the general public.
Santa Anita first hosted the
Breeders’ Cup in 1986, and was subsequently the site for the 10th (1993),
20th (2003), 25th (2008), 26th (2009) and the 29th (2012) editions. The 2009
event featured the great racemare Zenyatta becoming the first female to win the
Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Last year’s Breeders’
Cup Mile at Santa Anita was won by the 5-year-old gelding Wise Dan, who was
later voted the 2012 Horse of the Year.
