Grade 1 Test winner Turbulent Descent
snoozed comfortably Sunday morning in her stall in trainer John
Kimmel’s barn. Her trainer, Mike Puype, flew back to California early Sunday morning, the day
after his 3-year-old filly reiterated her standing as one of the best sprinting
fillies in the country.
Groom Martin Correa remained behind with the daughter of Congrats, who
won the seven-furlong Test in 1:24.17, a commanding 3 ¾ lengths ahead of
runner-up Pomeroy’s Pistol.
“She’s OK, very relaxed,” Correa said. “She
came out very good.”
Turbulent Descent will fly back to Del Mar Monday morning and begin
preparations for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at
Churchill Downs on November 4.
