BC Launches $500k Pay Day Promotion

The Breeders’ Cup announced today the launch of its $500K Pay Day promotion that will be conducted in partnership with 20 simulcast outlets, up from 17 in 2011, across the country.
 
This is the second year in a row that the Breeders’ Cup is offering this co-promotion with its simulcast partners.

The digital initiative provides all registered fans with a mystery “voucher” worth at least $2, with some worth as much as $5 to $500. One lucky fan nationwide will be randomly assigned a $500,000 voucher. Contestants will receive their digital voucher via email after registering online and must take the voucher to their participating track on November 3 to see what it’s worth.

Registration for the promotion begins today, and will remain open for the next two weeks, closing Wednesday, October 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET, allowing all fans near a participating site the opportunity to signup online. Fans can register now at http://PayDay.BreedersCup.com. Tracks will also advertise the promotion through their website, social media, track programs and other marketing channels in order to increase participation.

“We’re excited to work with our partners again to offer racing fans across the country another reason to head out to their local simulcast site on Breeders’ Cup Saturday,” said Justin McDonald, Senior Director of Marketing and Digital Media at Breeders’ Cup. “Last year’s program was well received by our partner sites and their fans, so we’re glad to offer it again this year at even more tracks. Hopefully, the lucky fan assigned the $500,000 voucher will cash it in at a participating site this year.”

“We are very pleased to work with Breeders’ Cup in offering our fans the opportunity to redeem a mystery voucher at Monmouth Park on Championship Saturday,” said Bill Knauf, Vice President at Monmouth Park. “This program provides an extra incentive for new and existing fans to come out to Monmouth Park to watch and wager on the Breeders' Cup.”
