Bold Silvano misses World Cup prep

BOLD SILVANO, Stan James's 7-2 favourite for the Dubai World Cup next month, will head straight for the race on March 26 after being ruled out of Thursday's Al Maktoum Challenge with a bruised foot.

His name did not appear among the final 14 declarations for the third round of the Challenge on Meydan's Super Thursday card and trainer Mike de Kock said: "We had always planned to run him in the last two legs of the Maktoum Challenge but that is not possible now.

medlocke, just like the Derby these trainers for the most part don't want a peak performance before the big day. Godolphin doesn't wan't to overdue it with him, but I do question if Mendip as good at 10 furlongs as 8 furlongs. He should definitely win his race though with division leader Skysurfer skipping this one and training up to the Godolphin Mile.
Even worse than Bold Silvano missing Rd. 3 of the Al Maktoum Challenge. Saeed Bin Suroor entered Mendip in the Burj Nahaar instead. After Mendip romping in Rd. 1 of the Al Maktoum Challenge, and allegedly being pointed for the Dubai World Cup? Don't understand this move by Suroor at all?
