Godolphin Stable's Midshipman (3rd, $5.70) dueled with Just Ben through hot fractions of 22.46 and 44.72, edged clear while drifting out in midstretch and was being geared down late to win his 3-year-old bow in 1:15.83 for 6 1/2 furlongs.
