Baffert Has Quartet for FrontRunner

Bob Baffert has won a record five of the 43 runnings of the Norfolk Stakes, which will be contested for the first time as the FrontRunner Stakes this year at Santa Anita, on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The 59-year-old Hall of Fame trainer could add to that mark in the “Win for You’re In” race for 2-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles. He has 10 horses nominated to the race, and said Thursday he could enter as many as four: Carving, owned by his wife, Jill; Code West, owned by Gary and Mary West; Den’s Legacy of the Westrock Stables, LLC; and Title Contender, also owned by the Wests.

Baffert’s previous Norfolk winners were Souvenir Copy (1997), Flame Thrower (2000), Kafwain (2002), Roman Ruler (2004) and Lookin At Lucky (2009).

Carving is his top horse.
I want to see if Know More can redeem himself in this race. I think the longer distance will benefit him. As for Bafferts colts; most of them, besides Rolling Fog and *maybe* Carving, seem to be pretty average to me.
Out of the four only two really stand out and thats Carving and Den's Legacy. Carving will just demolish this field and show he's even better then Rolling Fog.
