Mrs. Susan Roy and Vinery Stables’ Awesome Act galloped Sunday
morning after the renovation break with assistant trainer Wayne Tanner
up.
Tanner said that the winner of the Gotham (GIII) is slated for a
Tuesday morning work of probably six furlongs in company, and Julien
Leparoux could be aboard.
British-based trainer Jeremy Noseda will attempt to be at Churchill Downs for the work, but there is one major problem.
“There are no flights out of the U.K. right now because of the
volcanic ash,” Tanner said. “He wants to be here and is hoping to fly
out Monday afternoon, but as of this morning, there were no flights.”
