Ask The Moon all set for Lady's Secret

Ask The Moon, jockey Luis Saez up, wins the Ruffian Invitational Handicap on Ruffian Handicap Day at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Spring, New York on July 31, 2011
Rags-to-riches mare Ask the Moon worked four furlongs on Santa Anita’s main track Tuesday in :49.40 for Saturday’s Grade I Lady’s Secret Stakes.

“I didn’t want to go too fast,” trainer Marty Wolfson said by telephone from Miami. “She has a tendency to put in some really fast works but the last five or six, she’s been able to relax.”

Ask the Moon was claimed for $75,000 at Belmont Park on June 15. She was third in her next start, the ungraded Sky Beauty, but posted back-to-back Grade I wins after that at Saratoga, winning the Ruffian Handicap at 18-1 and the Personal Ensign at nearly 2-1.

Probable for the Lady’s secret: Ask the Moon, Martin Garcia; Blind Luck, Garrett Gomez; Great Hot, Chantal Sutherland; Switch, Ultra Blend and Zazu.

Blind Luck worked four furlongs at Hollywood Park Tuesday in :47.60 for Jerry Hollendorfer.
