Fair Grounds Race Course David Fontenot’s Allworkandnoplay, in front just after the start in Thursday’s $53,000 allowance optional claiming feature at Fair Grounds, made the pace and increased the margin late to tally by 1 3/4-lengths in the about 5 1/2-furlongs dash over the Stall-Wilson turf course.

Trained by Shane Wilson and ridden by Kerwin Clark, the winner established early splits of 23.16 and 47.99 before accomplishing the final distance over the grass course rated firm in 1:05.82.

Allworkandnoplay returned mutuels of $9.40, $4.60 and $3 and increased his career earnings to $136,695 with his seventh win in 25 lifetime starts.

Al and Bill Ulwelling’s Hype rallied late to clearly gain the place, paying $3.60 and $2.80 while finishing a length to the good of The Western Corporation’s Weslinn, who pressed the pace most of the way but had no rally. Weslinn paid $4.60 to show.
