All Turf Meet at Meadowlands Starts Oct. 11

All turf Thoroughbred racing will return to the Meadowlands Racetrack this fall when the Big M hosts the first of 10 days of racing action beginning on Friday, Oct. 11.

The fall Thoroughbred meet will feature six races per card including the popular Jersey Shore Six, which debuted at Monmouth Park earlier this year.  The calendar calls for live racing on Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 2 with the addition of Monday cards on Oct. 14 and 28.  Post time for the fall Thoroughbred meet will be 2:15 p.m.

The Meadowlands meet comes right on the heels of the current Monmouth Park meet, which wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 6.  Monmouth Park will race on Saturdays and Sundays through meet’s-end.

With the expected grand opening of the new Meadowlands Racetrack later this fall, the 2013 fall Thoroughbred meet will be the last in the current Meadowlands grandstand, which opened for business back in 1976.
