Plum Pretty, runner-up to It’s Tricky in a thrilling edition of
the Grade 1 TVG Coaching Club American Oaks on July 23, had her first work since
the race this morning, covering four furlongs in 48.05, the second-fastest of 31
on the main track.
“She cruised around there in :48,
out in a minute,” said John Terranova, the trainer who with his wife Tonja
oversees Hall of Famer Bob Baffert’s horses in New York . “She looked fantastic. It couldn’t
have been any easier or better. She hit the ground beautifully, and it looks she
like came out of the race really well.”
Among the options for the
3-year-old Pennsylvania-bred is the Grade 1 TVG Alabama at 1 ¼ miles on August
20, a race toward which TVG CCA Oaks winner It’s Tricky is also being
pointed.
“I’m going to work her again next
week and see how she trains, and then decide,” said Baffert, who is scheduled to
arrive in Saratoga on Friday evening.
