An evenly matched field of 10 sprinters was entered Tuesday morning for Friday’s 160th
running of the $175,000 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix (G3) at six furlongs
on the main track. The race, won last year by Hoofit (NZ), is a “Win
and You’re In” event for the Breeders’ Cup Xpressbet Sprint (G1) to be
run November 3 at Santa Anita.
The Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix is scheduled as the eighth race on
Friday’s 10-race card with a 4:49 p.m. (ET) post time. First post time
daily for the 17-day Fall Meet is 1:05 p.m.
Carrying top weight of 122 pounds is Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Lonesome Street.
Trained by Mike Maker, Lonesome Street won the Commonwealth (G2) here
this spring by 2½ lengths going seven furlongs. Javier Castellano has
the riding assignment on Lonesome Street, who will break from post
Also in the field is the winner of 2011 Commonwealth, Dogwood Stable’s Aikenite.
Second in this race last year, Aikenite will be making his 2012 debut
