Garrett Gomez will make a public announcement today at Noon EST on ESPN as to which horse he has chosen to ride in the Derby. Many are throwing Advice, the winner of yesterday's Lexington Stakes at Keeneland, into the consideration set but no announcement of Advice's Derby status has been made and let's face it, the decision really comes down to Dunkirk and Pioneer of the Nile. Is there any way Gomez would pick Pioneer over Dunkirk? No chance. Despite the lack of foundation, Dunkirk is the superior horse...proven on dirt and just confirmed his brilliance with a strong work out. It's an easy decision, Dunkirk's the choice!
