AWEZOME BLOZZOM!

In breathtaking fashion Jerry and Ann Moss’s superstar Zenyatta dominated the $500,000 Apple Blossom (G1) Friday at Oaklawn Park and pushed her unbeaten record to immortal status and topped it off with a bow to a crowd of 44,973 adoring fans.  Under jockey Mike Smith, the 6-year-old Kentucky-bred mare... How bout an awsome mare, out for a breeze, waiting to meet up with the big horses again?
Great point humphrey. It is amazing that Zenyatta has managed to win 16 straight with a sustained running style.
This one is a very very good runner who gets downgraded since it is common knowledge to slow it down early to try and beat her. IT WON'T WORK as she can overcome anything thrown her way. Deep closers only have to overcome the pace that is pushed on them. The fact that this one is undefeated with this accident prone running style is all the more impressive. Don't get me wrong,, this one is moving into the great category. Let's hope she gets the chance to silence the doubters this year.
Lmaris, I could see your point if Zenyatta was actually racing and not working out in the Apple Blossom. She basically was in a canter the hole race. Anybody that looks at that time and watched the race and sees anything other than that is delusional. Her connections announced months ago they were going to the AB they can't help who shows up or who doesn't.
Who knows...one of these days Lmaris you may end up being right. So far you're batting .000 with your predictions for Zenyatta.
humphrey's right. To call the rate pedestrian is kind. Glacial is what I'd call it. Any win is nice, But against a sub-par Apple Blossom field, over a fast track and a time most $25,000 claimers could meet, not awesome. The great mare impressed those without much racing experience, but to many it appears she doesn't move as well over dirt and will likely not run on it again.
Any time thoroughbred racing can be shown in a positive light, it should be considered a crowning achievement. Nothing wrong with a wonderful mare rallying to post her 16th win from as many starts in front of more than 44,000 fans. Pretty AWESOME if you ask me!
Awesome? pace was pedestrian and this one was so dominant she just blew by them. That word is bantered around too often, Red's Belmont, the Grand Canyon or the Pyramids are awesome, not that race yesterday.
