Thursday’s Del Mar Recap  – August 29 (Day 32)

Polytrack seemed to favor stalkers and closers. Both 5f turf sprints were nabbed in wire-to-wire fashion. Heavy favorite Journey On powered past pacesetter Calameera in the lone turf route (8f) carded (turf rail at 14 feet).

Garrett Gomez, Julien Leparoux, and Martin Pedroza each booted home a pair.

Using the Budget Ticket-Big Ticket strategy on Wednesday, I tabbed two winners on the $32 Budget Ticket (Journey On, Pat’s Back), and the same two winners on the $384 Big Ticket. Nobody had six so there is a carryover into Friday’s 7-race card.
