Mike you are semi correct, this years field is not fast. But the numbers Chrome has been running without any visual effort and never reacting. He would of been weraing the Roses in many of previous classes. This horse has not been tapped into yet, that should help him down the line.
so chrome dominates the derby, as well as his previous preps....and he's not a champion? he was even geared down at the wire.
Citation's track was sloppy. Assault's was called slow. And Smarty's was considered sloppy.
Don't know the track conditions, but Citation's Derby was run in 2:05.40; Assault's was 2:06.60; Smarty's was 2:04.06, but had a muddy track...
Count Fleet had a 2:04 on a fast track for the Derby. Didn't seem to stop him from the TC.
So what does time say about Sunday Silence's Derby (2:05:00) besting Easy Goer?
yes but being slow shows that this years 3yo's are a step below the past group. time my friend does show that the chrome isn't a champion
Time is only important in jail
