2013 Breeders' Cup Friday Pre-Entries

Breeders' Cup 2013 Pre-Entries Friday

172 horses were pre-entered for the 2013 Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita on Monday. Let's take a look at the prospective fields for Friday, starting with the day's headliner, the Breeders' Cup Distaff. Two-time defending champion, Royal Delta, looks to have her hands full with a trio of young guns. Division leader, Princess of Sylmar, last year's 2yo filly champion, Beholder, and multiple graded stakes winner, Close Hatches, are among the five fillies who look to end Royal Delta's run.

The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile figures to be one of the most contentious of the World Championships. A pair of classy three-year-olds, Verrazano and Goldencents, top the full field, with Graydar likely headed to the Classic. Among the older horses, Pants on Fire and Brujo de Olleros both enter off strong performances.

The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf drew an overflowing field, with Chad Brown's Bobby's Kitten likely to be the wagering choice. Meanwhile, Aidan O'Brien will look for a repeat of George Vancouver's success at Santa Anita last year, with the pair of Giovanni Boldini, and Wilshire Boulevard.

The female counterpart of that race, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf also drew a large field, with the Canadian sensation, My Conquestadory, topping the list. Irish import, Clenor, and French raider, Vorda, also figure to attract plenty of support.

The longest race on the World Championships' menu is the Breeders' Cup Marathon. The 14 furlong test drew a field of ten, and looks to be a wide open affair.

Blabs , i think Bullet Bob has a nice hand in this one.
In the Marathon, if breeding, last year’s Hawthorne Gold Cup, and HRN fan rating are taken into account, Pool Play and Cease, Casse and Jacobsen, should be together. Can’t promise which time by the stands. Blueskies .03 HRN edge is of no consequence :) after all, PP & C both have Cox’s Ridge on the bottom.
