Edge to early-pressing types in main track sprints, and the lone dirt route was nabbed by a closer. A closer and a stalker won the two downhill turf sprints, and a closer and a mid-pack runner made up the two flat mile turf route winners.

Mike Smith rode four winners on the day. Victor Espinoza and Ron Ellis teamed up for two wins on the day.
