Both surfaces seemed to play fair on opening day.

Joel Rosario booted home a pair. Bob Baffert saddled three winners (Rosario rode two) including Shakin It Up in the G1 Malibu. Jeff Mullins saddled winners in the first race and the last race.

Using the Budget-Big Ticket strategy on Thursday, I tabbed two Budget Ticket winners (Five Palms, Gervinho) and three Big Ticket winners (Five Palms, Gervinho, Shakin It Up). Carryover into Friday!
