What the Nation is saying about Watsdachances...

Caroline A. Forgason’s Somali Lemonade prevailed in a spirited battle for the lead, then held off Watsdachances in deep stretch to win the $150,000 Gallorette Handicap (G3) for fillies and mares Saturday at Pimlico.Read More
Hey LeRoy, miscast as a dirt horse in his youth, found himself after being claimed by owner Ron Sanchez and put in the care of veteran trainer Manny Azpurua. The 4-year-old is now a grass horse and comes into Saturday’s historic 113th running of the $400,000 Dixie Stakes (G2) as the favorite.Read More
Irish Mission and Orion Moon, both from the barn of trainer Christophe Clement, are ready to run on Saturday at Belmont Park in the Grade 3, $150,000 Beaugay for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Read More
Nice win! Congrats to the connections. Javier is hot at AQ today. Good 2nd for my girl Maximova
As we come down off the high of a beautiful Breeders’ Cup weekend, its time to get back to reality and to the grind. My brain felt a bit scrambled (Breeders’ Cup hangover) as I went about my business of breaking down this card, but hopefully through the fog in my mind we doped out a few winners. Sat...Read More

  • amdaman · I think Nellie's Cashman's DQ was the wrong call. She may have drifted out badly, but the outcome of the race was not impacted. Bad call. I do agree with The Apache's DQ. That was a dirty ride. Soumillon veered his ride in and almost caused a spill at the top of the stretch. He was lucky to be DQ'd only to second. · 323 days ago ·
  • Floridaf · I don't know if Rosie would have lodged an objection if Javier hadn't done so, and I believe we're just going to have to agree to disagree on whether or not it was the correct call. However, from a consistency standpoint, it was the same call made in the other 3 races for the same situation. Whether or not you agree with the call, you have to appreciate the consistency. · 323 days ago ·
Beaten a nose to the wire, Caroline Thomas was declared the winner of the Grade 2, $200,000 Woodford Reserve Lake Placid when the first-place finisher, Nellie Cashman, was disqualified to third for interfering with Watsdachances in the stretch on Sunday at Saratoga Race Course. Read More
  • Sully · This one was highway robbery. Think the stewards are maybe getting a bit too DQ crazy lately. The final order of finish was not affected, therefore, there should have been no change. Cost me one heckuva P4. · 324 days ago ·
  • travel_vic · watched the head on and it could have gone either way as the drift was very late. · 324 days ago ·
Tapicat, whose three-race win streak was snapped with her third-place finish in the Grade 2 Lake George, and Watsdachances, who rallied to finish second to Kitten's Dumplings in that race, meet again Sunday in the 30th running of the Grade 2, $200,000 Woodford Reserve Lake Placid at Saratoga Race Co...Read More

It may be the most valuable angle of all in handicapping the horse races … find a horse loose on the lead with virtually no early pressure, and more times than not you are looking at either a winner, or at the very least, a horse that will outrun its odds. It doesn’t always pan out as it appears on ...Read More

Kisber, Bradley Thoroughbreds and Nelson McMakin’s Watsdachances (IRE), unraced since a runner-up finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) last November at Santa Anita, headlines a field of 10 three-year-old fillies entered Sunday for Thursday’s 25th running of the $100,000 ...Read More
He may look like that kid you sat next to in sophomore Chemistry class, but don’t let his youthful appearance fool you, Chad Brown is training like a man among boys.
