OH NO!!! He was pulled up by Gary Stevens at about the half mile pole. I really hope he is OK. My thoughts are with him.

  • amfuller · Surgery tomorrow for TCI, he has a left front condylar fracture. · 1367 days ago
Is scheduled for surgery tomorrow according to Winstar's twitter feed.
I just saw some scuttlebutt from a message board (take with a grain of salt): Gary said he heard a loud pop at the 1/2 mi pole and pulled him up. The horse was bearing weight on all 4 legs, a split was put on his left front, and he was vanned to the barn for further examination. Most likely: suspensory ligament in his left front leg. If that's the case, they can surgically repair it but Take Charge Indy won't be the same racer he was. TL;DR: he's done.
Elliott Walden of WinStar says Take Charge Indy has condylar fracture left foreleg. Going for surgery.
gary stevens said he was just starting to open up on the field and he was wondering by how much he was going to win by when he heard the pop.Stevens said in his experience it sounded like he fractured a sesamoid.
Poor guy; hope he is OK.
Should win in a romp.
no no no.): NO. i hope hes okay. i saw that bad step & knew he was pulling up.

  • tmallios1 · last time was not indicative of his true ability in the foster.when you lose by that many lengths.just means was not into running that night. all is fine, should be one tough customer.unfortunately this will be under allowance handicap rules and will have to give quality horses weight . · 1376 days ago
When did he retire?
  • Show All 6 Comments
  • shores · It was announced at the end of last year that TCI would definitely retire to Winstar at the end of his racing career, which is why he must be available for nicking from Winstar. But as for the date/year of his retirement, I don't think anything's been said, so don't count me on it. · 1386 days ago
  • Northport · He has been on the stallion register and available for nicking for a few months now, I think it is just a keen Winstar. But don't worry, with Walden at the helm we can guarantee he won't race past 4, that would just be madness! · 1386 days ago

  • rafirox · Having a wonderul day betting, thus far... I had Take Charge Indy, and I'm glad he got it done... If you have read my posts, you would know I've been high on Cigar Street (and have bet him on numerous occasions) since seeing and hitting him live in December... This makes Cigar Street look even better, and great win for Take Charge Indy (and I had him!)... I've also bet some of his other previous starts, so I'm glad he finally got me the WIN money. · 1453 days ago
