tiznow · It is a shame in a way. i would love to see it somewhere different every year. And that is a true statement even though I admit having CD in my backyard I've been blessed last year and this year. But I think it should be spread. it's horse racing and horses are tough, so should be the people going to the races. If it comes up muddy, or cold who cares. That adds to the excitement of the race. Think of Alysheba's Classic in the shadows, or Cigar overcoming mother nature in that spectacular time, or Goldi cruising to BC Mile number three in subpar ideal temps. · 684 days ago ·

IronMaidens · Why does California, Kentucky and New York have to be the only places to hold the BC? What was wrong with Arlington and Woodbime? What about another major track - Pimlico? Unfortunately, the lousy remodel of Gulfstream knocked it out of contention. Calder isn't big enough and although Hialeah would be perfect, it will be a long time before it sees top quality racing again. · 684 days ago ·

CauseForConcern · The reason why they might be hesitant, is due to the tragedieds that have happened @ Belmont. Ruffian, Swale, Mr. Nickerson, Shaker's something, Go For Wand, Prairie Bayou. I think this is a great track, but looking at it from a media standpoint, they might not want to endure another tragedy at this track. MarkRodriquez · Every year the Super Bowl is played in a city with decent winter weather (unless it's played) in a northern domed stadium. That tradiltion has kept the game from being played in blizzard conditions. I was in Las Vegas the year Monmouth held it. I stopped betting on the races because of the quagmire that developed. Just this week Saratoga was plauged with sloppy tracks that can happen this time of the year. Santa Anita is the 1-5 favorite for having the best weather and fast track, now that Gulfstream is on the also-eligible list. · 680 days ago ·

MarkRodriquez · Santa Anita does have one problem: the unproven dirt track itself. It seems SA has been changing its surface because of problems. If the surface is unsafe or comes out like a dragstrip that produces world-record times, then go somewhere else. Hollywood Park actually has the safest surface, but easterners are tired of synthetic horses kicking their butts. · 680 days ago ·
