what's going with her? where is she? at Ireland or where? :/

  • EP Taylor · She was supposed to stay there and foal, be covered again, and return in foal next year to the USA. Curious to know what that baby would fetch at Tattersalls, or Keeneland? · 1044 days ago

Not sure if anyone posted this link to Royal Delta photos yet: http://thisishorseracing.com/news/index.php/photo-galleries/2408-good-bye-and-good-luck-royal-delta
Remembrance of a very happy event: Just received the nicest present of photos of Royal Delta winning the 2011 Alabama, and the winner's circle presentation.
I was hoping she would go to Medaglia D'oro
  • Dressage3295 · ThD'oro is my stud, but I'm quite happy she's seeing Galileo. Hopefully she'll see D'oro in the future- that would be an excellent cross · 1255 days ago

Sad to see her go but happy they brought her back for another year. I expect big things from her babies!

  • awphotoart · Hope they'll retire her. I think she lost interest in racing and she've done enough. She's my favorite, too. Since her first race. So I wish for her that they will give her now the respect she deserves and let her go to stud... · 1261 days ago
  • Sullivan · I would expect that she's done. That seemed the plan. I'm disappointed she's going to Europe. I would absolutely love if she went to Orfevre. · 1261 days ago

Does anyone know if Royal Delta ran on Lasix in the Breeders Cup? I know the program showed her without Lasix but I am sure I saw in the changes that she was getting Lasix, was I dreaming?
I thought that this monster was such a walkover in this race,i did not even pay attention to the entries. After noticing that it is a 6 horse field ,and she drew inside of the Princess and even Beholder. This just looks to easy for The Queen. They might even post the official sign on the tote board, when the Marshall says Riders Up in the paddock.

If she was to face Princess of Sylmar again, but this time at a 9 furlong contest on the Santa Anita dirt, who do you think would win? (Although I could just wait a few days for the BC Distaff for the answer)

  • tmallios1 · First of all Ekindy, let us address your point regarding the competition that Royal Delta has beaten the last 2 years does not stack up to the 2 you mentioned. In 2011 R.D defeated Plum Pretty and It's Tricky. All they did as 3 yos' was win the Kentucky Oaks,The Coaching Club A merica and the Cotillion Stakes. In doing so defeated R.D. along the way. In last years rendition she defeated a healthy and exceptional filly by the name of My Miss Aurelia also the undefeated Awesome Feather.Let us not forget Questing who won the C.C.of America Stakes and the Alabama.Do not take it that praising this great mare is a slap in the face to the other 2 fillies. It is a testament to her greatness and dominance. As far as P.O.S is concerned.I have been singing her praises for the longest time,i was defending her after the Oaks ,when many were still singing the praises of her more famous barnmate.(Cause for Concern, where are you when i need you with the Total Recall,i know you are somewhere in the bushes waiting to pounce). My point,of course we have to go back into R.Ds' PPs'.In anything we do in life, our history decides our future.Do not worry about the Princess,as i have stated.a healthy Princess as a 4 and 5 yr old,she will be looked at in the same breathe as Zennyatta and Royal Delta.Tha is how good i think she will become.Just not yet,she is still to young, she still needs time to develop.Consider these races as a bonus,i personally hoped she would not run here.I was hoping they would resther after the Beldame. Not because she can't win,but why keep going to the well so often.Supposedly ,everyone loved her 4 F work on Saturday at Belmont, this sealed the decision to run. Almost eerily reminiscent to Shug loving ORBS' 4F work the Sunday before the Belmont. He supposedly loved it so much.It sealed his decision to run.History tells us,it was not a wise move. For your sake and definately the Princess.I hope history will be kinder to her. · 1283 days ago
  • dna0571 · RD did not bleed in the Beldame, if she had she would not be running in the Distaff. · 1282 days ago

Daily Racing Form RT @DRFPrivman: Mott reiterated there is no chance Royal Delta will be cross-entered in Classic at pre-entry stage on Monday. Distaff only...
Date: October 12, 2013 Track: BELMONT PARK Distance: Four Furlongs Time: 46:50 Breezing Track Condition: Fast Surface: Dirt Rank: 1/12 Comment: LOVE.
For the record, I think Bill Mott is fantastic trainer, one of the best in America along with Shug McGaughey, IMO. But for the life of me I never will understand why her connections are willing to ship Royal Delta thousands of miles across the world to face some of the best males in the sport in the Dubai World Cup on a surface she clearly doesn't handle well at all, which I think is a fair statement after seeing her 2 runs on tapeta at Meydan, but they won't ship her cross-country to run against the best males in the BC Classic on conventional dirt, which always has been Royal Delta's best surface, by far. I've always thought she'd stand a very legit chance of beating males on dirt in the BC Classic, but I don't think she'd ever be able to win the Dubai World Cup on tapeta no matter how many times they send her to Meydan. • kaitlinefree1 · i think the huge purse of the Dubai World Cup may have had something to do with it, just to take a chance you know. · 1304 days ago
  • buds · As perhaps RD biggest fan (next to Mary) I have often asked myself the same question. This year however it makes sense to run in the distaff. As Northport pointed out, there is a lot of front running speed in this years Classic, and she has the chance to be the distaffs 1st 3 time winner. That puts her in the class of Goldikova, and Zenyatta (betting the boys). If shes around for another year and still in top form, Id like to see her give it a shot before she retires. · 1304 days ago
Even though I knew POS would win on Saturday- I can assure you Royal Delta will be a force to reckon with on Breeder's Cup Distaff day. Her eye is on the big prize- that being a three time succession sweep of the Ladies Classic.
