Questing, the champion three year old filly in America in 2012, has been retired. The daughter of Hard Spun won the Grade One TVG Coaching Club American Oaks and the Grade One Alabama Stakes at Saratoga last season. She had a minor chip successfully removed from a hind ankle earlier this winter, but...Read More

  • kay.robinett · from what I have been told, pneumonia is even more serious for horses than humans. supposedly it can cause scarring in the lungs and permanent loss of cilia, which in turn can cause a horse to become a bleeder. · 434 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · Eclipse voters look for several things CONSISTENCY, CLASS, ADAPTATION, and taking on all comers. They ACTUALLY applaud a horse taking on the best and NOT winning versus the new group of stakes winner who hide out in powder puff races. · 453 days ago ·
  • forego139 · I agree that W.D. is very good, but to sweep all three catagories was a surprise, Little Mike did what no Americcan horse has done on the Turf in quite some time and deserved some recognition, but once again those that have the power to vote never seem to not surprise us, maybe it's time they change the way the voting is done the same way they changed how to qualifiy for the K.D.. I also want to give a shout out to Fort Larned who should have been Older Male but then again who am I. that is left to those that seem to struggle with the opportunity they are given to cast a vote with some meaning and seem to struggle with the task at hand. Time for "Out with the old and in with the new" Fresh eyes are needed and those that no longer get excited with their opportunity to cast a meaning full vote seem to not put as much into their thought process based on the past few years and the strange winner's of Eclipes Awards that leave alot of us saying Hmmmm.......... · 451 days ago ·

horseracinghl ‏@horseracinghl Kiaran McLaughlin says Eclipse finalist Questing is still in Lex. recovering from having chip out of rt hind ankle but plans are still to bring her back to race this year.
With a crash and a thud and a boom and a bang, fickle fans of racing jumped ship in mid-stretch of yesterday’s Grade 1 La Brea Stakes. The excellent three-year-old filly, My Miss Aurelia, went down at odds of 2-5 much like the Mighty Casey had done so many years before. Read More

  • railbird33 · For those getting ready to watch & wager the Sunshine Millions in 3 weeks, this race is a harbinger of things to come. Over the years when a horse ships in for the Millions after running their last race in a BC race, two things happen- 1. they are underlays and 2. they don't often win. just sayin' · 477 days ago ·
  • MarcelloMarocco · I still feel Questings Alabama was the best race by a 3 year old filly this year. MMA still only has 1 GR1 win, and a listed stakes win vs Questings 2 GR1's. · 477 days ago ·
So does the 3rd place finish of My Miss Aurelia in the La Brea-G1 lock-up the Eclipse Award for Questing?
  • Mary Z. · The 3yo filly Eclipse will be decided between Questing, Coaching Club American Oaks and Alabama winner, also won an optional claiming race at 1 mile over $25 thousand dollar older females, or Lady of Shamrock's overall record. · 478 days ago ·
  • northport · many voters have already submitted their votes prior to the La Brea, so to them the result of MMA would not have changed their minds.... so yes · 478 days ago ·

  • thatbigbay · It's about time for a turf horse to take home the big prize. If IHA gets the award, HOTY is officially meaningly. He may have been a good horse, but what about the OF THE YEAR yart? He was only around for a couple months. · 504 days ago ·
  • illhaveanothertriplecrown · Yeah but he won bigger races. None of Wise Dan's races compare to the Derby or Preakness. He dodged the BC classic. · 504 days ago ·
Godolphin and Kiaran McLaughlin have a talented three-year-old filly who runs rings around her opponents before running erratically down the stretch, but ... this one is not named Questing. Read More

  • Linda in Texas · I think Dance Card is lovely. Watched her race, watched her win. So what if she veered toward the center. When she goes out to exercise where the heck do you think she runs. Most are exercised right down the middle of the track. It boggles my mind why bearing away from the rail surprises so many. · 506 days ago ·
  • Mary Z. · It seems that she's drifted to some degree in all of her races. Front wraps added after the first race, "off behind" and sent to the farm when her trainer first got her. His words in this report about Questing's ankle chip surgery: http://www.drf.com/news/questing-has-chip-removed-race-2013. When she beat older females it was in a 25K optional claiming race. How good is she? Good enough to run win with the physical problems that she does have, but for how long? I hope she gets some time off now, and of course, good luck to her. · 506 days ago ·
Many consider her the best of the three-year-old filly division, but does she deserve a year-end championship after only three starts this year?Read More

  • BrianZipse · My Miss Aurelia worked Monday at Santa Anita. Could a run in the Grade 1 La Brea, hoping to strengthen her Eclipse resume, be next? · 507 days ago ·
@DRFGrening: "Questing had chip removed from hind ankle. Will rehab in Lexington, but she is expected to race next year, according to Kiaran."
  • travel_vic · Horses run on the bones homlogous to our FINGERS, What we might call their knee is really the metacarpal/phalangeal bone joint in them so thier "ankle" is much more proximal to the body. · 515 days ago ·
  • platano.lajara · hope she come back becasue she could do big things next yr · 515 days ago ·
Cant wait to meet her!
Can someone please explain to me how Questing Is better then MMA ? But yet MMA finished beat her twice and had a great performance In the BC ?
3yo champ IMO
