What the Nation is saying about Pollard's Vision...

Now to stand at Pleasant Acre Stud
Someone was using their brains as I noticed today a horse called Colwood by Pollard's Vision. Colwood, a now defunct track which opened in 1924 on Vancouver Island had the distinction of being the place wher Red Pollard had his first win on a recognized race track.
  • Mary Z. · That was so sad in the Seabiscuit story when Red Pollard had to leave his family. He was asked where he learned to ride like that and he answered, "Home". · 255 days ago ·

  • ruffian75 · More like a "flaring nostril"!!!! I always felt that McCarron(who was on Cavonnier) was on cruise control late in the race, running alongside the rail to victory, when Bailey came flying on the extreme outside with Grindstone. I don't think McCarron ever saw that horse, until after the finish line. · 660 days ago ·

The talk of the racing world this weekend is going to center around Zenyatta, Blame, and a few others but I see it as a great opportunity to recognize one of my favorite horses running and acknowledge her connections, true sportsmen in a game that sadly lacks them.   I won’t lie, I’ve made...Read More
