What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Pierro...

Stud fee for Pierro announced: $77K AUS or $79,600 US. I think Lonhro is still at Darley America for $30K...
  • Northport · more than So You Think's introductory fee in Ireland (23k USD) and Australia (68k USD) - interesting indeed · 21 days ago ·

Can't believe Pierro (Lonhro), 2 yr old AUS champion, has been retired, less than 24 hours after losing gamely to Sacred Falls in the Doncaster Mile. Pierro leaves us with 11 wins from 14 starts, including five Group 1s, and earnings of $4,536,650 (AUS).

Wins again just beating king mufhasa to the line. Reliable man ran on well over a trip that proved to be well too short. Gai waterhouse is starting to get on my nerves after declaring pierro is the best racehorse Australia has seen in the past 50 years yes that's including black caviar. -_-
I’ve never been to Australia, but I’ve always wanted to go. One of the main reasons for a visit would be to immerse myself in one of their big race days, and in case you do not know … big race days down under are very big indeed. Winter may be on the horizon for us, but it is the middle of springtim...Read More

  • jeanpaul.stannus · Sorry, I have stumbled onto this site late. Great to see some overseas interest in our best weight for age race. I had my money on 'Ocean Park' but the less said the better. And after 'Green Moon' didn't fire in the Caulfield Cup I left it out of the Melbourne Cup (worlds greatest race). The less said about that the better. · 62 days ago ·

The 3-year olds are back in force tomorrow in the G2 Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill Gardens. Heavy favorite Pierro seems likely to have it his own way, particularly at this 1400m distance. However this race is chock full of talent, including Kiwis It's a Dundeel and the undefeated Sacred Falls. It's A Dundeel, a son of High Chaparral, seems to want a longer race--best at 2400m, but the forecasted soft to heavy surface may work to his advantage. Sacred Falls is suited for this distance, and being by O'Reilly, a soft going would suit him too. Proisir is another talent with a win already at this distance at Rosehill--if he is loose on the lead, then watch out. Then their are other emerging talented 3-yr olds stepping up in prep for Autumn Carnival: Rebel Dane, Mulaazem (from Peter Moody camp), Proverb--names to watch out for as we ramp up racing in the Southern Hemisphere. Oh yes, my choice--banking on my Kiwis who should like the soft turf, with a tip to Sacred Falls, at this shorter distance.

Pierro displayed his deadly turn of foot in his barrier trial today, almost catching his lightly raced stablemate, Landing, who provided a true test for his mates. Kiwi star It's A Dundeel, third. These barrier trials provide tests so very helpful, particularly when returning from layoffs as Pierro and Dundeel are. Both are set to clash when they meet in the Hobartstakes March 2. After starting his career a perfect 8 for 8, Pierro tasted defeat for the first time in the G1 Caufield Guineas. Finishing 2nd to All Too Hard.
Pierro goes for his ninth straight win tonight in the Caulfield Guineas!
Go Pierro!! Lets make it 8 for 8 tonight in the Stutt Stakes....

Way to easy for Pierro! The 2 year old AUS Triple Crown winner makes it 6 for 6 in his debut in the Run for the Rose at Rosehill. It was an easy win by the son of Lonhro, is now favorite in the betting over More Joyous for the Cox Plate. Your Song was scond with Epaulette third. Second favorite All Too Hard was never a factor.

Wouldn't it be great if this was the year where we could have 3 Triple Crown winners- Pierro in Australia, Camelot in Europe, and I'll Have Another in the US? That would be something cool to see. If that were to happen, one horse down (Pierro), two to go (IHA and Camelot).
I'd like to request that the uber-talented Pierro, who is now 5 for 5, and the recent winner of the Australian 2 yr. old Triple Crown be added to HRN undefeated watch list. Only six horses have achieved that feat. He'll be a force to be reckoned with as a 3 year old.
how come Pierro the son of the great Lohnro and Atlaantic Jewel still arent on undefeated watch?????, come on guys
congrats pierro maybe another so you think already
Round of applause for the newest Triple Crown winner--Australian Triple Crown!
He's the real deal, winning yesterday's Sires Produce Stakes in record time. The 2 yr old (by s. hemisphere standards) by Lonhro beat favorite All Too Hard (1/2 brother to Black Caviar) to capture the 2nd leg of the (AUS) juvenile triple crown. A win in the Champagne Stakes would give him the crown.
