When is she going to have her baby?
For Mary Z- as promised. Photos of her in her last race. I also threw in some other photos of horses I've been lucky enough to see at the Fair Grounds.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/91093795@N00/sets/72157634774426267/

  • Mary Z. · Wow, really nice, SSilence ! Flat Out was thinking, why do they want me to run so early in the year? He was still "shaking the rust off" . But, then I give him lots of chances. I know he's one of your favorites, too. Maybe your top favorite? · 1373 days ago
  • SSilence86 · I love the old iron guysn that keep running, like Flat Out, Chamberlain Bridge, Ben's Cat, and Al Khali. But yes, yes Flat Out is my top favorite horse running right now :) · 1373 days ago
Mandy Pope reports that both Havre de Grace and Plum Pretty are doing well. Grace was bred to Tapit, and Plum Pretty was bred to Distorted Humor. Both got in foal on one cover and are due about 2 weeks apart. The paddock mates love each other and are very spoiled, according to Pope.

Whos better, a matured HDG or a matured Royal Delta? I know HDG already bear RD but i dont think RD was all the way matured. i still think HDG would win.
What do you guys think about this match? HDG x Hard Spun

HDG has been confirmed in foal to Tapit.
i know TrueNicks ratings don't mean everything, but she is rated a D with Tapit? there are just as good stallions she could be sent to that fit her better. am I missing something?

  • notobsessed · Oh, Tapit x Oatsee!!! · 1478 days ago
  • AmbitiousD · TrueNicks seems like an interesting method of evaluation. It basically "correlates" the number of stakes winners to sire/broodmare sire lines. A lower grade mating does not mean the foal will be bad, it just means it will not likely follow the patterns predicted by TrueNicks' database. I am of the sort to breed the best to best and cross your fingers. What you define as "best" is entirely up to you. http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/truenicks/pages/frequently-asked-questions.aspx · 1478 days ago

  • kay.robinett · In breeding both Zenny and HDG to Tapit, their connections are shooting for the moon. They are trying for the complete package - the speed and precocity of Tapit combined with the soundness (Zenyatta and Grace both raced at the top level through multiple seasons even though Grace was retired due to an injury) and stamina of the dams. Odds are that this will not work, but if it does, the resulting foals will be outstanding. · 1582 days ago
  • Horsefan90 · Yeah, I forgot about Kittens Joy as well. · 1582 days ago
As selfish as I am going to sound, I was pretty relieved when she wasn't going to be sold to Japan. We already sold 4 or 5 top mares to the Yoshidas today...and I am pretty glad that she wasn't one of them. Although those purchases are simply the US's loss and Japans gain.
  • goblin · Yes, Japan already has and is continuing to build a fantastic band of broodmares with many previously N. American horses. · 1634 days ago

Yes Frank Stronach was the underbidder on Royal Delta Mary Z. But he may not be interested as he is turning his attention to running for the president of Austria. Sorry to start another thread but am having trouble again commenting on a thread.

Yes MaryZ. I have to agree with Footy just using my iPad to try and comment. I have some days I can comment on a thread other times not. Apples new operating system is very buggy.
Anyone care to guess how much she'll go for? http://www.drf.com/news/havre-de-grace-tiptop-heading-fasig-tiptons-november-sale

  • Mary Z. · For crying out loud, Tim,must I always be teased? She might bring more dollars; it's possible, but I've said this before, Royal Delta's bargain price was due to her pedigree, which is considered one of the best of active U.S. horses. Also, Royal Deta had won at the Classic distance and although it would be foolish to say that HDG could not, since it took a photo to find out that she didnt, RD was also still in training, but I will say that her new owner had the huge funds to by-pass the years normally required to establish a broodmare band(He also purchased several pricey well-bred fillies along with Royal Delta) so that's what he did, and you will see how wise that decision was, in just a few years. Havre De Grace had an excellent record, you know the details, and she also has a top pedigree. Maybe the underbidder for Royal Delta would like to buy HDG. · 1652 days ago
  • Mary Z. · If I remember correctly that was Frank Stronach. · 1652 days ago
its real easy to win the beldame with havre de grace in the picture, too bad she was injured.

  • kurtvonneguts · hail mary z! she's got more insight than anyone else does, that's quite delightful. i was insinuating the royal delta would've had much more to deal with if grace wasn't injured and retired. · 1671 days ago

Does anyone know who she will be bred to? Or if she was even sold yet?
