What the Nation is saying about Executiveprivilege...

With four horses coming together at the eighth pole, it promised to be an exciting finish to this afternoon’s $600,000 Rebel Stakes. Read More

  • Mimi Hxx · Looks like they were playing bumper cars. The replay doesn't go back far enough. When Tapiture pushed through there was a few yard where Hoppertunity moved out and everybody had enough room. Then came the squeeze play where both ends come in - Strong Mandate ended getting squeezed back. I think the stewards made the only call they could unless they wanted to DC all 4 of them. I don't think it was 'great' riding by any of them. · 31 days ago ·

In a race that already includes Strong Mandate, my current top pick for the 2014 Kentucky Derby, not to mention last-out rompers, Tapiture and Kobe’s Back, you would think I might shy away from looking for a longer shot in Saturday’s Grade 2 Rebel Stakes. Not so. I actually see an opportunity to mak...Read More

  • ekindy · @Ruffianlover I think the differences are greatly exaggerated. Remember Princess took some time off after the Oaks as well. Princess ran exactly one more race for the year than Beholder, and ran exactly one more race than Beholder between the Oaks and the Distaff. Yes it's a difference but it's not so much of a difference that you take the award away from Beholder. And also remember Princess stayed home when other contenders (in fact ALL other Oaks runners if I am not mistaken) ran in March prep races. Are we going to discount her Oaks victory because of that? · 83 days ago ·
