  • Peppermint Paddy · Did not appear both fillies beat much. Those running behind DOJ looked to be finishing 2-3 seconds behind, none of which want over a mile, at this point. Nice win by both, obviously with the win at GP, DOJ will be more favored. She looks like a jr. Royal Delta! · 54 days ago ·

She is reminding me of My Miss Aurelia. Were both undefeated and both have found away to lose, but both have their reasons.
  • cocoa2 · I think losing to Royal Delta, clearly the strongest female since Zenyatta, and losing to some aspiring fillies is a little different but we'll have to see how Pure Fun goes on in her career. · 136 days ago ·

I am so tired of people saying she has peaked. Not on this site... But, My friend and I were discussing our favorite two year olf fillies, and analyzing her race. He said she PEAKED. I have, and never will, see a horse PEAK at two. Only ignorant people to the sport would say a two year old has peaked. Horses generally peak at five. IGNORANCE.

  • travel_vic · In his great book Decade of Champions, author Patrick Robinson recalls the start of the 3 year old campagin of two two year old champs with all their accolades. One went on to improve and the other never won another race. Same hype relatively the same type animals. YOU NEVER can predict who will or who won`t improve and how much. · 162 days ago ·

  • thatbigbay · As an equestrian as well as a handicapper, I agree with TV. It is so impossible to predict which horses will turn into top caliber athletes and which will wither into little but a vet bill. All horses deserve a good shot of patience and hard work. Watch the yearling sales, and pick your favorites. Who can predict which will make it into stakes winners? Even the best in the game pick up the next generation of maiden claimers for hundreds of thousands of dollars. · 154 days ago ·

  • annmatt · Some additional points about Pure Fun: Including her debut, Pure Fun has started eight times, taking 4 tries to graduate. Since her first start on 6/24, she has run with the following days between races: 19, 29, 35, 26, 9, 35, 14! She has run without Lasix, and not having to worry about 30 days recovery time between races likely made it possible to concentrate on the best races for her continuing education. She now has won on 3 surfaces! She has run at 6 different tracks, with 5 in her home state, and one cross country! She is definitlely a filly to watch for 2013. · 165 days ago ·
