What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Drill...

Trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Martin Garcia have parted ways it was announced Sunday via Twitter. This comes just a day after the pair had teamed up to win the Laz Barrera Memorial Stakes (gr. III) with Drill.Read More
  • Cardly Knot · I know theres been different opinions on what happened, and who is in the right. Trainers are the ones who make the decisions on who fits who. With that said, I would still love to hear from Gary Stevens, Jerry Bailey, Kent Desormeaux, Victor Espinoza, Garrett Gomez, and now Martin Garcia..all their stories of going up and down with Baffert. I was counting on Gomez to spill the beans in his new book. Anyone read it, yet? · 14 days ago ·

  • Mary Z. · I had a dream that I thought was real. It was that Gun Boat won the Laz Barrera, only I didn't know the race name in the dream/ what I thought was a memory. I was actually surprised that Gun Boat would be running again so quickly after his "win", which was just this past weekend. When I looked up his last start, I realized it was a dream, as he hasn't raced since 4/22. Not saying that's a reason to bet on him, and if anyone does, of course that's at their own risk, but the last horse that I dreamed of winning, in blinkers and on the outside, was Groupie Doll before the Madison. This race seems right for Drill, but I like that weight break for Gun Boat, besides the premonition. · 17 days ago ·

On a quiet and sleepy Sunday at Oaklawn Park, the top three finishers (Bodemeister, Secret Circle, Sabercat) in the $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1) were just that the morning after they each secured their place in the Kentucky Derby (G1) in three weeks in Louisville.Read More

I love that there's a son of Lawyer Ron (Drill) AND a son of Sharp Humour (Hero of Honour) AND a son of A.P. Warrior (Thunder Moccasin) winning graded Derby prep races this year. It's like 2006 all over again. :-) If only Barbaro had had some babies before he died... :-(
he is a sprinter
Nice to see they are slowing things down and running him like the G1 winner he is, not a claimer.

I think putting this horse in the Blue Grass is a mistake. Drill has no business going around two turns.
