What the Nation is saying about Debt Ceiling...

Fox Hill Farms Coup de Grace tops a field of nine in the $50,000 Oh Say Stakes this Saturday. The six furlong event for 3-year-olds is named after the 1982 winner of the Hannibal Handicap at Delaware Park who was locally-owned by the famed Christiana Stables. Oh Say, whose dam Light Hearted won six ...Read More

King Leatherbury’s Ben’s Cat, one of the top turf sprinters in the country, returns to the main track for the first time in nearly a year as the 5-2 favorite in the $100,000 Dave’s Friend Stakes, one of four added-money tests at Laurel Park on Saturday afternoon.Read More

  • rafirox · I keep trying to talk myself into liking this one (I saw his first two races in person and also have witnessed him train on several occasions), but I just don't care for him. This breeze was a 7 out of 10 at best and I don't think it is a surprise this colt has not succeeded against elite competition. He should stick to local stakes races, in my opinion. · 256 days ago ·

The beat continued on for trainer Todd Pletcher in 2013, when 5-2 third choice Havana won the Champagne at Belmont Park by holding off the fast-closing Honor Code. Read More

Debt Ceiling cooled out fine. You just don't know if they can stretch out until you try it. He will go back to sprinting.
I don't think he is Kentucky Derby quality he would be better as like a Justin Phillip or Strapping Groom or even Groupie Doll, u know a sprinter
Eased up in the stretch again, hope he's alright.
A field of nine was entered for the Saturday's Grade I Champagne, with the D. Wayne Lukas-trained Strong Mandate the 5-2 favorite over Shug McGaughey's Honor Code and Todd Pletcher's Havana.Read More

One of the wagering angles that has served me the best over the years is not dismissing a horse because of one poor race. In other words, after finding a horse that I like, I should not give up on them because of one poor performance, no matter how bad that performance happened to be. Often these ty...Read More

Debt Ceiling fired a 4 furlong bullet in an eye popping 47 flat! the best of 45 works at this distance, he worked over the Laurel surface. Monmouth, here we come!

  • rafirox · You didn't see the work, but it was "eye popping"???? Gallops mean just as much as works. Your "FIVE MAIDENS TO WATCH" were all with fast workouts time and/or a great pedigree with a superb sibling. You DID NOT track them, you picked out obvious ones. My point: You didn't pick the ones who were impressive in the morning, why? Because you didn't SEE them work.... you simply picked the 1.3 million dollar purchases who are siblings to Bodemeister, Cross Traffic and Secret Circle. · 305 days ago ·

  • Sullivan · Yes, to see a horse be the best of 45 other works, that is eye popping. Gallops and works are completely different. As for my FIVE MAIDENS TO WATCH, they were ones who I liked and friends liked. I found one on facebook, another by a friend, and the other three by auction. Only one is a 1.3 mil purchase and that if anything is a hindrance. Those big purchases often go awry ; rather, the 200k ones are usually the best. · 305 days ago ·
