BIG DRAMA THE BEST MALE SPRINTER IN THE WORLD!
  • ajump08 · Kudos to a nice comeback today. 1:17:3 I believe was the 6 1/2 time over the ever tiring Calder track. · 1200 days ago
is Champion Sprint Male Horse!
... fantastic!
Congrats Eibar Coa.... You da man CHAMP JOB WELL DONE
Will train up to the BC Sprint after his runner-up effort in the G1 Forego.
I was just on YouTube, looking back over some of the different races of 2009. Two of the one's that I watched were the Red Legend Stakes and the West Virginia Derby. I've always liked Big Drama. Every since I saw him race at Calder and sweep the Florida Stallion Series. I'm just wondering, does anyone at all know if his connections are planning to bring him back as a 4yr.old and race him in 2010 or not?
I just finished watching a replay of the Red Legend Stakes at Charles Town and the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer. Before he faded in the last 1/8th to take second, Big Drama ran one of the most impressive 1 mile''s in that race that I've seen all year, anywhere. At a mile, he'd have beaten Soul Warrior and Mine That Bird by 10-15 lengths. Watching those replay's just make's me wonder if Big Drama wouldn't have been a player in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile. As it stand's right now, there's little to run at Mastercraftsman except Pyro and possibly Midshipman. I think Big Drama could have been the horse, at a mile, to really test Mastercraftsman. jmo.
I saw him run in the Red Legend at Charlestown. He looked really impressive to me. I won't be at all suprised if he makes alot of noise and some big headlines in the haskell.
This guy is winning the King's Bishop. Tell 'em where ya got it.
If Big Drama runs a big race, i will be the first person calling his trainer to congratulate him and ask him how he did it. The horse has to go 1m 3/16 off a 45 day layoff and a series of 4, 5, and 6 furlong works. I just cant see how he is going to be fit.
Big Drama's trainer insists that his charge can rate and that's what he would prefer. It would be an interesting strategy to let Rachel work harder to secure the lead and draft behind her. Would make for an easier trip for the "Drama". Hard to see a rating trip out of the one hole, though. No question, Big Drama will take his speed into the stretch.
The thing about Big Drama is he just loves to win. His Delta race was a nice race going two turns while very wide on the bullring track... as a two-year old. He should be respected...
I respect his ability, but i just dont see how he comes off the bench from a 45 day layoff and makes a big statement going 1m 3/16, against horses who just ran 1m 1/4, 1m 1/8, 1m 1/8,, 1m 1/16 in the last few months. His last race was 7f, his race prior to that was 1m 1/16 on Dec 5th 2008. Maybe I am wrong, and if am I will eat some crow for him and his supporters.
Hold the presses... he's not done yet... Looked pretty darn good in the Swale... DQ or not...
It's a shame he's missing the Derby. I actually thought he had a legitimate chance. Very talented horses... hopefully he comes back okay.
