  • ruffed grouse · Not just the star of the week but the star of the meet to this point. A difficult horse to ride as she wants her head in order to relax , if you grab her up Im sure she would fight you. I have been on a few like this, they can give you a really uneasy feeling. · 688 days ago ·

The Grade 1 Alabama is expected to give clarity to the 3-YO Filly division, but what about the West Coast based Eden's Moon who is entered in the G1 Del Mar Oaks?Read More

  • Floridaf · As far as turf races go, Lady of Shamrock does have the advantage. She has a G3 win, a G2 place, and a G1 win all on turf; compare that to Eden's Moon's G2 turf win. As for the entire 3-YO filly division, Eden's Moon has the slight advantage, IMO. Of course, none of these fillies have multiple G1 wins, so if a G1 winner takes home one or both of the weekend's races, then she (or they) will automatically rocket to the top of the division. · 690 days ago ·

  • AndyScoggin · kay, cutting distances is the way things are in racing now. I am not a big fan of the cuts. Since 2003 the CCA Oaks was been reduced from 12 furlongs to 10F and is now 9F. Graded status rests more on the level of competition in a race than a change in distance. · 745 days ago ·
