ILuvTurfRacing · It's in this morning's news in the international section of the Racing Post web-site that connections of Cirrus Des Aigles just announced they've decided to forgo running him in the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup in favor of another tilt at Royal-Ascot in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes during the royal meeting in early June. So You Think is highly likely for a return engagement for that race as well, and it also happens to be the first major 10f G1 stakes race that Frankel is under strong consideration to run in. · 15 days ago ·

Zazou

The German contender, Zazou, has just been purchased by Ramzan Kadyrov, and now becomes his Dubai World Cup contender. Kadyrov purchased Green Destiny a month or so ago initially to point him toward the race. But a very poor showing by Green Destiny in the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge Rd. 3 back on March 10th, where he was dead last of 14, found Kadyrov shifting him back over to turf as his entry for the G1 Dubai Duty Free on Saturday. Zazou just recently defeated G1 Champion Stakes winner, and Sheema Classic entry, Cirrus Des Aigles, in a conditions race on Deauville's fibresand track back on March 3rd, and by all accounts of those who were there, took to the synthetic surface like a duck to water.

ILuvTurfRacing · P.P.#4 is an excellent draw for So You Think given his high cruising speed and running style. He came into the BC Classic off of a grueling campaign of having just run in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes, the G1 Arc De Triomphe, and the G1 Champion Stakes at Ascot back to back to back before he even came to America for the Classic, and IMO, he was by no means disgraced in the race for a first ever run on conventional dirt. The top international turf horses have run very, very well on the tapeta surface over the past 3 seasons, and I'll expect we'll see So You Think run a much bigger race in the Dubai World Cup than he ran in the BC Classic. Being a natural turf horse, I think he'll adapt to the surface a lot better than he did conventional dirt. I look for Godolphin's Capponi to try and steal this race entirely from the front end just like he did the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge Rd. 3. The field certainly can't afford to let him get away, because he holds the Meydan track record on tapeta for the fastest 10f ever run. I think Game On Dude will have a difficult time overcoming the P.P. #14 draw. That's not a knock at him, because I know what a tenacious competitor he is. But I just think the DWC field is a good bit deeper than the field he faced in the BC Classic. JMO. · 60 days ago ·
