What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Zacinto...

Twice Over went straight to the front and never looked back, cruising to a half-length victory in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes (Eng-I) at Sandown Park July 3.The victory gave legendary trainer Henry Cecil his fourth win in the Coral-Eclipse and his first win since he captured the race with Gunner B in 1...Read More
  • medlocke · After a disappointing Dubai World Cup in March. Twice Over has bounced back with an excellent 2nd place run to France's Byword in the Prince of Wales Stakes at Ascot. Then today, he just overpowered the Coral-Eclipse Stakes field at Sandown. Twice Over forged to lead early. Sheema Classic winner Dar Re Mi went with him for much of the race. But she didn't travel nearly as smooth as she did in Dubai in this race. Whereas, Twice Over was under a hand ride the nearly the entire race. Thomas Quealy never touched Twice Over with the stick until well inside the final furlong. Then, Twice Over wasn't weakening. He was just out on the lead alone, and become complacent and began to idol a bit. Sri-Putra and Viscount Nelson came charging late to close some ground and pass Dar Re Mi to finish 2nd and 3rd in the race. But Twice Over had the win in hand easily. Dar Re Mi ran 4th in the race. Zacinto, who just ran 4th to Goldikova, Paco Boy, and Dreameater in the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot never figured in the race and ran 5th. This was his first start beyond 8 furlongs. Another short priced race favorite, Mawatheeq, pulled a B.C. Classic Quality Road, and refused to load for the Coral-Eclipse. He was scratched from the race at the gate. · 1386 days ago ·
SUPERSTAR mare Goldikova put in another trademark performance to land a thrilling opener to Royal Ascot on Tuesday, quickening away from her rivals and then holding off the late challenge of Paco Boy by a neck. In a Group 1 curtain-raiser that lived up to great expectations, the two-time Breeders' C...Read More
Chris Gayle may have been the West Indian who battered India into submission in the World Twenty20 at the Kensington Oval this week but in Newmarket a Barbadian has become the master of the more patient approach. Will the Euros dominate the Mile? Maybe not if Justenuffhumor shows up.Read More
  • arazi · I agree Justenuffhumor is a strong play in the Mile. He's proven over firm turf and although he could be off form, you'd feel silly not to forgive him for one bad race over soft turf and a slow pace. Another possibility is that Justenuff bounced. He ran a lifetime top in the Fourstardave, then ran back to it in the Bernard Baruch and then bounced big time at Keeneland. I haven't looked at the sheets yet, but those guys might say this guy has improved a ton since he started running in December and that it was inevitable he would bounce after the two big efforts. They would also say that he will need more time to come back. However, at 12-1, you have to use him strongly and take a shot it was the soft turf. What'sthescript running late for a piece is also a nice call... as former Miler's usually do better their second try... and he will be a fat price. · 1630 days ago ·
  • Rossington · I don't think Justenuffhumor has enough to win the mile. I think, even though Goldikova is a very talented filly, Delegator is the horse to beat in the mile. My mile tri-fecta is Delegator, Gladiatorus, and Goldikova with Zacinto coming in 4th. jmo. · 1630 days ago ·
Goldikova looks to become the fourth horse to repeat in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). Doubters will point to Goldikova's third-place finish in her most recent effort Oct. 3 in the Prix de la Foret (Fr-I), but she was beaten just a half-length in that seven-furlong contest. The 4-year-old Ana...Read More
  • invasor · Agree with Medlocke that Goldikova has a some tough Euro competition to contend with especially Delegator. While the US horses are just a cut below they are better than last year's US entrants · 1634 days ago ·
  • Rossington · Goldikova is an excellent filly by anyone's standards. The way she exploded through the stretch in the 2008 Breeders Cup Mile was impressive. But Goldikova awaits a much tougher field in the 2009 Breeders Cup Mile than she faced a year ago. She may possibly, with a another big run get up into the money, but she'll have to beat Delegator, Gladiatorus, and Zacinto, all her fellow European countrymen to do so. I personally feel that Delegator is the horse to beat in this race. · 1632 days ago ·
The Breeders's Cup World Championships success last year of five European-trained horses at Santa Anita Park really made everybody sit up and take notice. There were a record 31 European-trained raiders in 2008 and the number is set to be matched or even surpassed this year.Read More
