What the Nation is saying about Win Variation...

Orfevre's last stand proved the display of dominance that he deserved as he exits towards the breeding shed.Read More
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Orfevre blasted the G1 Arima Kinen field, officially beating Win Variation in 2nd by 8 lengths and Gold Ship in 3rd by 9-1/2 lengths, scarcely even off the bridal at any point in the race. I'm anxious now to see what kind of # Timeform throws at Orfevre for his performance in the Arima Kinen? If it's a big #, and I suspect it will be, then you have to wonder if Treve's Arc win won't scale to new heights and possibly become one of the highest rated Arc wins ever? Given she soundly beat Orfevre by 5 lengths and Intello by 5-1/4 lengths, scarcely off the bridal herself that day at Longchamp. · 115 days ago ·

  • joan.cleaver.31 · What a champion! His performance in the 2012 Hanshin Daishoten stands out as the race that made him a 'world beater', if you haven't seen it you SHOULD! · 115 days ago ·

An interesting observation. This past week, Japan has seen three talented graded stakes winners injured (2 with bowed tendons). All three are slated to return to racing after their 9 -12 month recovery period. WV is one with a bowed tendon. Like Excelebration is to Frankel, WV is to Orfevre. Wishing him a complete recovery and I look forward to his return to racing. *Thanks to Kate Hunter for timely information via her Keiblog FB site.
Beat Black, the outsider of 18 horses, won the Tenno Sho Spring this afternoon by 4 lengths from Tosen Jordan. Third was, another 2 lengths behind, Win Variation with another neck away Jaguar Mail fourth. Orfevre, the 1.3 favorite, finished a disappointing 11th place. Read More

  • Protagonist · And the beat goes on, Sunday Silence was fantastic back in 1989, beating Easy Goer out of that years Derby, then his offspring were excellent and now his grandchildern, what a wonderful bloodline. · 905 days ago ·

  • annmatt · Makes one wonder just what his legacy would be had he lived a few more years! His is a record that won't be broken any time soon! Memo to American breeders: you might want to acquire a couple of Sunday's sons and daughters to fill your barns with some winners! It really is fun to read his progeny charts and see all the millionaires. Will need a currency converter to understand the amounts ($1 = 78 JPY Yen!)!! · 904 days ago ·
