Older Comments about Will's Way...

One of my personal favorites and could never be counted out.
  • travel_vic · I have always admired gut wrenching HARD triers: thos animals who never give up even with limited abilities and conformation. A great example was an old claimer who win 13 starter allowances in a row at old Bay Meadows and then, catapulted into a stakes race with the best on the grounds, this old guy (an 8 or 9 y/o gelding at the time) ran an amzig third in a stakes race. Though beaten, he got a standing ovation from the assembled crowd: name Hap Louge dubbed the "poor man's Secretariat." We had an old need to lead sprinter here who never quit and as such won often until well into his later years named Celt.. Creme De la Fete did this in New York for years. I do so admire these types, usualy geldings with no future after their running days are over, giving it 100% in every outing no matter the footing.....These are the ones to be admired. · 1184 days ago
