What the Nation is saying about William's Kitten...

Some things just seem meant to be. A few weeks ago, it appeared the chances of Derby Kitten being part of the 137th Run for the Roses were slim to none. The son of Kitten's Joy had never won anything but a maiden race in eight tries. Although he had shown good form in 2011 including a fast closing 2...Read More

"Derby headquarters here!" exclaimed Ken Ramsey as he answered the phone minutes after finding out his Coolmore Lexington Stakes (GIII) winner Derby Kitten secured a spot in the Kentucky Derby 137 starting gate. It’s clear from his name that his owners have always harbored high hopes for Derby Kitten. Unfortunately, despite his victory April 23 in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. • annmatt · I have no idea what to do here, except I like Dialed In. Ever since watching his running style in his first two races, I was hooked! His little white shadow roll kind of got to me, as well. OK, I know, this isn't very scientific, but I am a total amateur, so, what can I tell ya! I think he got just a tad outgunned being thrown in with the older horses, and it wasn't his fault. It may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him, though, since the next time out, he isn't likely to take anything for granted. Hopefully, his "fire" will be back, and we can see him emerge as the only real challenge to Uncle Mo. I can't help it...I just love this guy! · 434 days ago ·

  • dipak1 · Dialed In Loses Florida... I could'nt believe my self that his timing was so poor 1:51.12 +0.050=1:51.62, it was not timing for the horse going to ran kentucky derby, according to the time that he made in Holy Bull, he suppse to make time in 1-1/8 miles, 1:47.50, it was very strange, i think that run in Florida with older horse is just disguise, the actual speed that he has, is going to be seen in Florida Derby and Kentucky Derby. i am convinced that he can do that. · 416 days ago ·

The decision by Fair Grounds to rearrange its stakes schedule and push the Louisiana Derby back to March 27 did much more than simply motivate Gulfstream management to move the Grade 1 Florida Derby up a week to March 20 to avoid a potential head-to-head conflict between the two races. It has also p...Read More

Fox Hill Farms’ Winslow Homer made an auspicious stakes debut Saturday at Gulfstream Park as he pulled away from Robert LaPenta’s 8-to-5 favorite Jackson Bend in the deep stretch to score a three-quarter length victory in the $150,000 Holy Bull Stakes (G3) as both talented 3-year-olds set off on a p...Read More
  • Rossington · Speaking of the Kentucky Derby, has anyone out there heard any news at all about some of the 09' Derby runners and contenders that were injured early in the year? I know that Pioneer of the Nile, Papa Clem, and Dunkirk have all been retired. But what about Musketman, The Pamplemousse(who I know didn't run in the Derby), or I Want Revenge? I saw that Friesan Fire and General Quarters have both returned to action racing in the Louisiana Handicap recently. Just wondering if anyone knew when we might expect the return of some of the afore mentioned? · 843 days ago ·

Winslow Homer made his stakes debut in the Holy Bull with only three starts to his credit, but he was well-regarded despite the limited credentials, leaving the starting gate as the 7-2 co-second choice in the wagering.
