What the Nation is saying about Wildcat Red...

Wildcat Red has been ridden by five different jockeys in his last five races at Gulfstream Park while establishing himself as a prominent Triple Crown contender. Rafael Bejarano is slated to become No. 6. Read More

  • hannahWTC · Since no jockey has committed to this horse, I'm going to take that as a sign that he's not a top contender. Especially since Luis Saez opted to stay on Cairo Prince even though he finished behind WCR · 15 hours ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Vic that statement is GENIUS.How long did it take you to think it up. He will either run big or he will fizzle out. What other option is there. Then you added the cherry to the dessert. We will find out, when will we find out. Maybe after the Derby when it is to late and have be the horse. CLASSIC ANALYSIS. · 14 hours ago ·

I was going to bet the good turfer Hitchcock when he came to Hollywood one Summer but I was tipped by a vet that he was a terrible shipper and stayed off him to my relief as he demonstrated that to be true right out there on the course acting up all the way to the gate. · 3 days ago ·

DRF reports that Wildcat Red has been confirmed for the Kentucky Derby and will get jockey Rafael Bejarano. Rafael is the 6th different jockey for the colt. Trainer Jose Garoffalo wanted to get Luis Saez, but Saez is committed to Cairo Prince. Gary Stevens was also an option, but he has decided to stick with Candy Boy.

  • rhg1217 · Candy Boy was too close to the lead in the SA derby for sure, but he was only a couple lengths off in the Bob Lewis before he made a huge move at the sixteenth pole in that one - the only legitimate excuse for his regression would be A) hoppertunity is just that much better than him that he smoked him in the stetch or B) he got completely discouraged when chrome grew wings at the top of the stretch in his face · 3 days ago ·

If you watch The Florida Derby Constitution slightly bumped Wildcat on the bend when squeezing up the rail. On another day Wildcat might just have the edge. Maybe ?

  • geldedridgling · Good news is at least Cairo Prince will be at fair odds come Derby day. If you re-watch the race, Consitution basically rode the rail the entire trip and still only had just enough to edge out Wildcat Red?.Todd Pletcher complained about the Gulfstream speed bias after Dunkirk lost in 2009. I guess he's learned to embrace it. · 19 days ago ·

  • Davidm9999 · Given WR's trip he should have won the race. Even comfortable splits ensured Wildcat would be there at end. He was but still lost. I give Cairo a pass due to outside trip into soft pace. Not sure if he is good enough for Roses though. Gen. A Rod ran merry go race. Constitution also got favorable trip with rail run. More upside likely although that goes against the reality of Team Todd underperforming in Louisville. This prep was better than LA Derby IMO. · 16 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Pom i am far from being one of Cairos biggest supporters. But Nag is a bit much, this horse is not 100 %. I agree that he is far from at his best as the distances get longer. But this horse when right has incredible talent when right. He is fast, unlike many who are still deemed contenders and are simply plodders who get the job done. As i sai many times, except for a handful of these 3 yos',this might be one of the slowest 3yo classes in memory. · 19 days ago ·
