  • Northport · I think you are bang on, Sullivan. If one is keen on getting on the Bernardini bandwagon, you can either pay 150k for the real deal (although he is having a very slow year) or go for something unproven, but at a heck of a value · 662 days ago
  • Dressage3295 · I wonder if they will lower Bernardini's stud fee? 150k is a hell of a lot of money when he's not producing like he should be at that price. · 662 days ago
Probably the only Bernardini runner that didn't run badly out of New York.
Im gonna miss u wilburn!! U were my favorite horse to gallop.
Spendthrift has purchased Wilburn and he will be retired to stud.

  • amfuller · That's what I thought too, really he was just getting started. · 1330 days ago
  • cjcracer · He did prove himself and no it's not ridiculous!!! They didn't retire him for no reason. He has an injury that he can't come back from. · 1330 days ago
Kinda reminds me of curlin... I call him baby curlin.. i hope he goes to the breeders cup classic or atleast the dirt mile
Good looking win by Wilburn today in the Indiana Derby.
Steven Asmussen is a trainer that I dislike. I think he pushes his horses to hard and sometimes asks them for more than they can give.
I don't understand Steven Asmussen. Why did he entered Wilburn in the 1 mile Alow race, after the colt won MSW at 6 1/2 distance? He could give him some time
Wiburn has a long stride and his dame sire Carson City surprisingly has a AWD of 7.99 as a sire it was only 6.60. This gives me hope that he may get two turns can't wait for his next race.
Anybody know if he has done anything lately, such as breezing galloping, jogging? He looks to have a superb pedigree. I hope to see him race soon.

  • mrskrabitz · He has worked recently, he ran 3f in :36.80 at Turfway, though this is via "Madienwatch" at Bloodhorse. If you go to equibase and query his name, it shows several works, but not this one... · 1608 days ago
  • mdracing69 · Sharp debut win by Wilburn in the 2nd race at SA on 3-5. Too late for Derby but he is one to watch as the year progresses. · 1581 days ago
What are we pockstiling horses???
Hope he debuts at the Fair Grounds!!
Bay colt has a precocious female family. Half brother is Beethoven, winner of KY Jockey Club (G-2) at two. Dam was G-3 winner at 2 and won or placed in all 6 starts at two.
$625,000 Keeneland saletopper at April's 2yo in training sale breezed 3f in :33 4/5 for the sale.
  • humphrey · Bamking on this type of unprovenm stupidity is what created the bidding war on the crappy, but expensive Green Monkey. Ultra short moves alone on a trainng track mean ZIP in a race. That is, unless you are looking for a quarter horse sire. · 1833 days ago
  • mshutty · Good point, Humph, but rarely is speed like that a negative factor. Agree that it is more about how they run versus what time they run in. · 1832 days ago
