A win or second-place effort in your final Breeders' Cup prep is reason enough to move on to the big event. But when you run fifth, well . . . Read More
  • medlocke · Even finishing 5th, Beautician is a decent 2yr.old filly with some promise. She'll probably improve with age. But in the juvenile filly division this year at the Breeders Cup, if she brings her "A" game to the table, I don't look for any of them to catch "Hot Dixie Chick." She has excellent tactical speed and can really open up when called on. She run's very smart, more like a 3yr.old than a 2yr.old. · 155 days ago
  • gardenesque1 · Note that Beautician will not have to face Hot Dixie Chick in the Cup because the latter is not going to Santa Anita. According to assistant trainer Scott Blasi, Spinaway (gr. I) winner Hot Dixie Chick will be given some time off and probably will start back at the end of November at Fair Grounds. · 154 days ago
Trainer Todd Pletcher’s track record in the Bourbon Stakes (G3) has been stellar over the past five years with two victories and two runner-up finishes. On Sunday, he may improve on that record when he sends Wertheimer and Frere’s Interactif and two others in the 19th running of the $125,000 event f...Read More

Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird had a slow five furlong drill at the Spa on August 17th, and a subsequent exam revealed an entrapped epiglottis. Minor surgery on Tuesday corrected the breathing issue, and he remains possible for the Travers (Aug 29th). He will head back to ...Read More
