Is he okay?

  • goblin · jmac, I've been looking at DRF twitter, etc., this A.M. and can't find anything. Sometimes HRTV will mention things in their on air conversations--I'll listen as much as I can today. · 426 days ago
  • jmac500 · Thanks! · 426 days ago
Won on Saturday!
Nice 2nd place off the layoff but it wasn't his best distance.
Beyond excited that he returns on Thursday!

  • Mary Z. · Good time for him to come back. Smith may be over that rash of losing on big favorites. How's that for inane, biddy? · 535 days ago

Back on the worktab - on November 17, worked 3F at Hollywood on Fast AW in :38.80 h (24/25)
I miss him!
Any news?
Any news on him?
War Academy, unraced since being pulled up as the favorite in the Arkansas Derby (GI), worked a bullet five furlongs in :59.60 over a fast track after the renovation break at Churchill Downs under Jorge Alvarez.
War Academy breezed 4f in :47.40 (6/22) at Churchill Downs on 5-2.
Any word on why he pulled up and if he's ok?

War Academy will have a Bodemiester like race and will win very impressively.
interested to see how this horse does, but as of right now, he seems way over-hyped.
Baffert is going downhill fast this horse has no shot. Read bloodhorse's article on baffert!

I'm hoping War Academy wins the Ark Derby because 40 points for 2nd place may not be enough to earn a trip to Louisville. I hope that the Ark Derby gets at least 10 horses entered. Young horses need the experience of running in a big field. I went back to 1983 (not in a time machine!) and couldn't find a Ky Derby winner that hadn't raced in a field of at least 10. War Academy hasn't been in a field of more than 6. This colt should love the added distance, being by Giant's Causeway out of an A.P. Indy mare. He has a Tomlinson distance rating of 331. The last seven Ky Derby winners, except for Street Sense, had a Tomlinson number above 300. Street Sense had a 297.
Dangerous after his last win. If he gets the Arkansas lookout!
Looking forward to him running in the Ark Derby.
Why would Baffert ship this colt to Meydan? Makes no sense at all! GoDolphin has never had success with their shippers. What could possibly be gained by sending a yound, inexperienced horse half way around the world AND THEN expect to be successful in the grueling Triple Crown races? Besides... trying to beat a southern hemisphere 3-year old like Soft Falling Rain is going to be tough. They should run him in the Santa Anita Derby. If he's good enough, that may be a softer spot.

  • code west · No link to the story Mary. I just saw the thread related to what Horse Racing Nation posted as his next race. They have since changed it to the Arkansas Derby. That makes a ton more sense. Keep him here in the US first of all... and on dirt at 9 furlongs. If he's the real deal, the 100 points should get him to Churchill. I don't like the 3 week turn before the Derby, but beats the heck out of Meydan! · 895 days ago
  • kaitlinefree1 · He's Had Enough was the only 3YO to ship to Dubai. which i still don't think that makes any sense to send him anyway... · 895 days ago
