What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Wando ...

Just a couple of couple of weeks ago here in the United States, we concluded our 2012 Triple Crown series, now the time has arrived for my friends and family north of the border to enjoy Canada's great Triple Crown series of horseracing. It all kicks off on Sunday, June 24th, at Woodbine Racetrack i...Read More

  • buckpasser · Agreed Cocoa. And if the horse industry can't read the writing on the wall, I will tell them that NY will follow Canada. What people don't realize is that the State of NY owns the tracks which didn't before Mario Cuomo the father of the present gov. Worked out a deal with NYRA for funding and continuing the franchise, the tracks were turned over to state in 1970's. When the NYRA franchise expires because of the original deal which is to come in the next couple of years, you wait and see but Aqueduct will be sold and racing will be at Saratoga and maybe at Belmont, but there were plans to turn that into a casino too. · 362 days ago ·

  • Woodbinemile · Couldn't have agreed more. This is a BIG slap to all of us Canadian Horse racing fans. As well as the American, and Euro fans who watched the Queen's Plate, and take an interest in our TC. A track such as The Fort REALLY needed this boost, but unfortunately the connections thought otherwise. To bad, because the POW was a HELL of a race this past weekend, and surely she would have beaten Pender Harbour, and Bowman's Causeway. · 702 days ago ·

Get ready racefans, it's time for our neighbor to the North's Kentucky Derby. The Queen's Plate is the biggest of all the big races in Canada, and with 151 previous editions, it has a long and storied past. Horses like Northern Dancer, With Approval, Izvestia, Peteski, Wando, and the star filly Danc...Read More

Check Your Soul and Queen'splatekitten enter Sunday's Queen's Plate off impressive scores in their respective preps, the Plate Trial and the Marine. Over the past 20 years, does the winner of one have an edge over the winner of the other? Keep reading to find out. Read More
  • BrianZipse · Interesting information, Adam. In the end, I think it comes down to who is the better horse, and this year it looks like the Plate Trial winner is better than the Marine victor. Rooting for the filly, but Check Your Soul is the horse to beat. · 729 days ago ·
