  • Zenyatta-Perfection Personified · I think that owners of the fillies/mares are the ones who are making the difference, with a willingness to test their females against the best of the males. And there have been some all-time great females in just the last 4 years. · 262 days ago ·

  • Medlocke · Speaking of talented mare's, here's another old 5yr.old mare that's taken it to the boy's more than once in her career. In what turned out to be a very close photo finish, Vodka really dug in to hold on in the stretch and win the Japan Cup. She alway's fight's on tough. She's sort of the Japanese version of Europe's Goldikova. The last time I had seen Vodka race, she faded in the stretch in the Dubai Duty Free trying to run down Gladiatorus. But like a true champion, she's come back and redeemed herself. · 910 days ago ·

  • Rossington · When I saw Vodka run and fade in the stretch trying to catch Gladiatorus earlier in the year in the Dubai Duty Free, I thought that maybe the old champion mare may have reached her limit. But being the champion she is, she show's up big again winning the Japan Cup. I was kind of surprised that Conduit finished out of the money, but his jockey commented that he may have been a bit fatigued after racing in the Breeders Cup Turf, then shipping to Japan for this race. But he still managed a very respectable 4th place finish in the Japan Cup. · 910 days ago ·

Two-time Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) hero CONDUIT (Ire) (Dalakhani) will look to put an exclamation point on his illustrious career in Sunday's approximately $6 million Japan Cup (Jpn-G1). • Medlocke · I really felt that Conduit would at least hit the board in the Japan Cup. He did, however, manage a 4th place finish in a race with quite a large field. But losing to Vodka in Japan is no disgrace. That would be kind of like Conduit losing to Goldikova or Dar Re Mi in his own country. Vodka is truly a champion mare who has beaten the boy's more than once in her career. · 910 days ago ·
