How did the Iowa Derby go? I didn't see a single post on it.
  • CauseForConcern · #6 Jessica's Star won the race in the slop. #1 Embellishing Bob ran 2nd. Vicar's In Trouble would've completed you Superfecta, running 4th. · 118 days ago
  • CauseForConcern · Vicar's In Trouble ran 3rd. Sorry. · 118 days ago
VIcar's In Trouble returns in the Iowa Derby; could be an interesting pace scenario with Embellishing Bob breaking from the rail.

  • tmallios · I fully agree Sullivan. Other than the obvious in that they are taking on Vicars in Trouble. I do not think he has a prayer against him. Looks like Midwestern operation Win Star picked this spot. Both are G3 and the purses are even. · 122 days ago

Vicar's has a free two lanes to start the derby now, no excuses as long as he breaks well.

  • Sullivan · Rosie is nice with fillies but omg do I get pissed when she isn't strong enough to control a horse (ie MYLUTE) · 176 days ago
  • BryanH912 · my comment was about her not winning the derby with vicars in trouble from that post on the inside. I never mentioned a thing about Kentucky Oaks. you watch and sullivan is right she doesnt have the strength to control some of her rides just watch tomorrow. i said shes not gonna win the derby not oaks · 176 days ago

Remember post #1 is the shortest way around the oval remover they say vicar has distance limitations so saving ground is a blessing in its self I have watched all of vicars gate openings and every time vicar breaks to the right with a very quick first step . By breaking right he will give himself the clear emcee not to get pinched from the rail which bends out if he can do that he will have solid early position when the go by the line and his natural early speed will put in great position on the first turn again saving all the ground along the way keeping all that early speed all of them 4 to 6 wide around the turn basically causing all of them to be out of there game and will have nothing left turning for home approaching the final turn I see vicars in awesome position and easing off rail then rosy can ask him for his run and in a flash he will open up by 5 at the same time all the closes will be forced to go extremely wide because all the speed caught outside will tire and the will lose so much ground while rosy saved every bit out ground it will take a monster close by someone to catch vicar in the last 1/16 but remember this is Rosy's track a LA BRED AND A FEMALE WIN THE DERBY I can see it now
I love how we say post 1 is the worst when it isint. 12 winners and in the past 10 years only looking at lucky had trouble with the post

  • buckpasser · Northport. It is not your bad. The writer of the list has made a typo in the 1988 Derby PP, putting in 1 instead of 11. My information comes from the Media Guides that Churchill Downs puts out every year on Derby information. You can buy these on eBay and they have all the charts of every Derby, history of the race and lots of other info. The one I am looking at is spiral bound and has 374 pages in it. · 177 days ago

Terrible post 1#

  • striped mentality · My heart ans gut say to stick with him, this post draw was the last nail in coffin for my logical side, telling me to stay far,far away. I will leave him as my favorite though... as illogical as that seems to be. · 178 days ago
  • travel_vic · post position choice is RANDOM by draw. In all the ones I have attended, the juicy mid group but still near the inside (5 6 7) go first and then the subsuqunet choices go lateral and medially to that core. If you are last up , you generally have the choice of 20 or 1 and that is just the way it works. No one sets out to pick that one. · 178 days ago

Go to you tube and type in vicars in trouble and look at his 2 year old in training time trail this horse I'm telling has a unbelievable acceleration when asked if Rosie can somehow work out a soft trip and not ask him to rum till top of stretch you will see a rocket shoot out of pack

Vicar beat 4-5 horses who beat wicked strong
  • travel_vic · very very weak logic as EACh and EVERY race represents a differing pace pressure to the entrants · 194 days ago
  • Exterminator · If we're playing that game, Chrome beat Candy Boy, who beat Chitu and Midnight Hawk. He also beat Hoppy, who beat the whole Oaklawn bunch. · 194 days ago
