CauseForConcern · Nice memories of Peaks and Valleys. Won the Cradle Stakes as a 2-year-old, and I decided to play a future book bet on him. Didn't run in the Derby, but had won the Illinois Derby the week before the Ky Derby in record-setting fashion. Bet him in the BC Classic against Cigar, but the track came up sloppy. He had never run on an off-track. Rolled the dice, and he spun his wheels. Nevertheless, to root on a horse that no one else knew of, was a thrill for me.
