On June 29th, Unlimited Budget worked 4F (b) in 49.62 (27/50) over fast dirt at Belmont Park's training track.
What a waist of talent. This hosre has never been the same after the Belmont. Time to hit the breeding shed.
Interesting. Nominated for the Just A Game as well as the Ogden Phipps. I don't know if moving her to the turf is the answer, but she'd be more competitive against the turf mares than she would against the big 3.
  • Sullivan · With Better Lucky, Discreet Marq, Centre Court, and the rest in here, she doesn't have a great shot. But good luck to her. · 1032 days ago
If Repole makes Pletcher put her in the Ogden Phipps after that finish, I'm gonna kick him.

  • triple_double · If you are a horse owner or trainer, how would you know/predict that you're filly horse will be an All-Time greats. You have to take the risks, that's why the future in unpredictable. Nobody knows. · 1058 days ago
  • tmallios · Ex nobody is saying that they cant run or compete. You mentioned Risk, she was an All Time great. But take her and Rachel, they were monsters against the colts at the age of 3. Both had very short 4yo careers. They were asked to do to much to early and it took its toll. On the other hand, look at Zennyatta, she took on the boys when she was fully developed and strong. She never faced the Boys early. Am i right in what i am saying,i havent a clue. But results are there. Also they are getting ready to run.Good luck with your filly at CD. · 1058 days ago
does anybody know how is she doing? will she return in the MSW\allowc or they trying to start her in stakes? or maybe(because its Repole Stable) retired?

Ahh my favorite races to bet heavy favorites off long layoffs, money every time ha;ppend again today. Tho she should improve off this
She just didn't want to be there. Same as the CCAO.
  • The Doctor · I heard Ron Ellis talk about this one time. He said sometimes certain fillies lose their competitive spirit and just don't want to run anymore and they don't get it back. I don't know if that's the case here but it wouldn't be the first time. · 1113 days ago
  • tmallios1 · Doctor she lost hers on June 8th 2013,when they ran her in the Belmont as a publicity ploy. She has not been the same since. · 1113 days ago
Shes back Yeaaa cant wait to see her run saturday
Returns on Saturday in Race 10 at Gulfstream.
Unlimited Budget worked 3/8 in 39 flat
Done for the year. This is why you don't put a filly in the Belmont. And why you don't push them into another grade one race 6 weeks later.

  • ekindy · Rags to Riches not only ran a decent race, she won the Belmont. Yet she was also never the same afterward. And I'm not saying Repole did anything wrong, if he WANTS to risk the rest of her season in exchange for a shot at the Belmont that's his business, but risking the rest of her season is the downside of that choice. He can certainly afford to make that kind of a gamble more than any other owner, and I think she should be fine as a 4 year old after a proper freshening. · 1295 days ago
  • travel_vic · ANy horse can go bad ANY race ANY day...It is only when fools KNOW there ia a problem (the D.Wayne syndrome) and they risk them when it is clear they need a rest. · 1295 days ago
I really like Repole and I think he's very good overall for the sport, but he's been pushing this filly too hard. I hope he gives her the rest of the year off and has Todd and his people work towards getting her ready for her 4 YO campaign where she has a chance to be really successful.
  • Sullivan · AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH · 1342 days ago
  • ekindy · Well it looks as if she's getting a 2 week freshening and skipping the Alabama but still aiming for the Cotillion. I think she needs more time, but I'm not a trainer. I hope she comes back well. · 1339 days ago
Saratoga has killed me today so I hope this one ends the pain!

  • Sullivan · Maybe it's better no one remembers her.. I was loving the 9/1 I got on her Oaks day · 1341 days ago
  • michael.k.kelly · That baffled me too Sullivan. The only reason I didn't jump on it myself is because I have a connection to Princess of Sylmar and I felt like I would have jinxed her. Of course I can't complain about the almost 39-1 I got on Princess that day, not to mention the pure joy of the victory. But I have the utmost respect for Beholder, and I expect a lot more success from her. · 1341 days ago
UB is good filly. after belmont I was not disappointed. this filly ahead Overanalyze (Arkansas DerbyG1), Freedom Child (Peter Pan G2), and other. brilliant filly.
It almost seems ironic that the more horses Repole has in a race the worse he does. Don't get me wrong, I love the Repole family, he just had the best odds in the entire race and didn't even get in the money.
Will continue to return to races against fillies, next start CCA Oaks according to Todd Pletcher via Jay Privman.
Go Florida bred filly!!!
I would like to see her and Rosie beat the boys!!
I don't think there is any real reason orb lost, you win some you lose some, it's not a good idea to blame the trainer, he was just trying to have a triple crown winner its practically tradition for the kentucky derby winner to go and run in the preakness, everyone wants another triple crown winner after so many years, I am against pushing horses too hard but I don't think that was the case with orb.
Please get this horse in the Belmont!
