If I had the money, or ability to do so I think it would be interesting to invest in a totally 'no' lined TB (A horse with no strong racing pedigree/ preconceived surface preference / Distance preference etc.) And just see what happened. No, I won't ever liekly be able to do any thing of the sort (The fee's would be astronomical) .. But has it ever happened? I know Mine That Bird was a huge upset, but he had the lines etc. I mean a total unknown taking the sport by force .. ?

  • Sullivan · The problem would be that no matter how far I have gotten, statebreds, unraced, you always trace to someone, should it be Polymeus, Bold Ruler, Nearco, Ribot or even back to Bend Or. Every once in a while I'll see a horse whose lines are mostly jumpers, they don't run too well. · 739 days ago
  • Sullivan · Had Spend A Buck raced in the Preakness it might be a different story · 739 days ago
