Reading article after article and watching the latest news on the Breeder’s Cup makes me feel like I the only one attending. This showcase of champions seems to be dwindling in attendance, not by the fans but by the horses. Seems like every horse that would be a sure favorite in their division is no...Read More

  • Cigar16 · All fans should go to a live Breeders Cup at least once. But even with stars in my eyes I can see travel_vic's point. Watching at home you do get to see all of it, at the track, even with a good seat it has its drawbacks. I have gone to several, and do not regret the hassles etc. But watching at home you have the best seat in the house. At home there are no dirty bathrooms, parking issues, crammed bleacher seating, (shame on GP in 99, I was a sanctioned sardine) long lines at the windows, jammed self service machines, lines at concessions, backups at valet parking, you name it! Only problem is if there is a late scratch you cannot cancel your tickets. :) · 100 days ago ·

  • curlin · Lived in Louisville most of my life. We finally decided to pack our bags and move to Florida. We are literally leaving at 4am on Saturday morning for good. :( I've been to about a dozen derbies and 3 breeders cups. Its a shame I'm gonna miss this BC. I'll miss this place. :( · 97 days ago ·

Twirling Candy, who was being aimed for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) at Churchill Downs Nov. 5, has been retired from racing because of an injury, according to Daily Racing Form. The 4-year-old colt, raced by Craig Family Trust, Martin Wygod, and William S. Farish, will be headed to Farish’s ...Read More

  • Mary Z. · icy, That prediction of yours didn't come true--about Awesome Gem. He's going for hos fourth BC appearance and had a very good year, especially considering his age. I just love the Candy boys. Love the speed they possess, even though that gets the best of Sidney's at times, when he burns out from his own heat. · 114 days ago ·

  • Mary Z. · Okay, I see the two fast 5f. works. Did Mr. Sadler make the announcement about him going to the Mile? Good decision, imo, if that's his goal. Love the speed! I won't deny it. · 123 days ago ·

  • ruffed grouse · Twirling Candy always works that way and grade one horses work fast but the last I saw was a 5/8 work in 59 which really is no big deal for him. Look for his works to stretch out and still be quick as I believe he will run in the classic. · 123 days ago ·

  • Mike in SB · I thought Havre de Grace's win was the most impressive of the weekend by far, and with Flat Out winning the Gold Cup, she has to be the favorite for the Classic. Actually a lot of the Breeders Cup races are starting to look pretty good. Havre de Grace, Uncle Mo and the rest in the Classic makes it look like a better race now than it did a few months ago and the Ladies Classic looks wide open now. If the Arc Winner comes over and So You Think runs in the Classic this could be a very good Breeders Cup. · 129 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · Mike I completely agree about the Classic. The fact that you have some definitive stars now makes the race come up much better. I mean with the list of horses i said in my blog, there are what 6 grade one winner heading for the race? Makes it look much more competitive. · 129 days ago ·
